I am interested to hear your perspective on what the repercussions might be if Britain were to leave the European Union. Would expats living here be forced to return?

In a word 'no'. Freedom of movement of labout is (I believe) an EEA policy not an EU one and there's been no indication that the UK is to leave that.


There's no problems with Norweigian, Swiss and non-EU country ex-patriots living and working in France or Europe.

Those that have been resident in France for 5 years are perfectly safe from eviction!
