A year ago my 17 year old dog died. We adopted him from Sirius in 2009. Then my Dad died and I felt devastated. I heard many times from my friend about a 6-year-old Sirius dog Blacky who lost 2 chances to be rehomed because adoptions were broken off by Sirius Administration. I walked him for 3 months, then decided to foster. As we are still living in the same house where our doggy lived his last 6 years we had no doubts we will pass the home checking for fostering. Although Blacky is the similar size and type of our previous dog, not young and we are 15 years experience dog owners let alone our volunteer activities in other shelters. But the 2 inspectors from Sirius without a chance for us to express our opinion proclaimed our house unsuitable for keeping dogs because they found our fence too low. Despite our consent with some changes they failed our foster. Several times we sent them letters of request for the report of our home check, list of their rules and regulations they refer to, measurements of the dog etc. They don't reply. And blocked me in fb. This asocial behaviour made me start a petition and send letters to some institution in order to take the dog out of the shelter. And I can't walk Blacky because banned from the shelter. This asocial behaviour of the Sirius Administration made me start a petition and send letters to some institution in order to take the dog out of the cage. So the slogan "Adopt, don't buy' now sounds for me like a mockery to all I've been doing for the last 15 years - walking, donating, volunteering... Maybe someone can give me advice who can help me adopt Blacky?
